Nicklas Bendtner became the hero for Wolfsburg in the German Super Cup final by scoring an 89th-minute equaliser before dispatching the winning penalty against Bayern Munich. It had looked straightforward for Pep Guardiola at the Volkswagen Arena after the Bundesliga champions took a 49th-minute lead through Arjen Robben. Yet they underestimated Wolfsburg's secret weapon who, after replacing Bas Dost in the 70th minute, beat his marker to send the game to penalties, before winning it for the underdogs.
