The real-life Hangover: 'Quiet beer' in the local pub turns into 7,000-mile trip to Thailand for two friends from Middlesbrough... with just a Tesco carrier bag filled with clothes

A quiet pint ended up with a 7,000-mile trip to Thailand for two men from Middlesbrough. Phillip Boyle (pictured far left), a company director, had decided to go for a beer in his local pub with friends for a relaxing Friday night. It was back at Mr Boyle's house where Boyle and friend Jamie Blyth (second left), in their drunken stupor, decided to book a taxi to Manchester Airport in the morning and fly to Thailand.
